Most evenings, I try to chat with my dad, W5JE, on or about 7285 +/-, at 00:30 UTC (7:30 PM CDT). At a distance of just over 70 miles, it's amazing 40 meters works for these contacts.

I tried operating remotely (not off the grid, nor POTA/SOTA) over the last weekend of April 2026. I was using an old ICOM IC-730, which didn't perform very well (poor output). I was using an MP1 Super Antenna.
